Commonly Asked Questions

What's Better, Aluminum or Steel Gutters?

We strongly believe aluminum gutters are the best way to go. They last on average 10 years longer than steel as they are rust-resistant and are less prone to leaks. We only install steel products if we are doing Lindab Half-Round European Gutters or Customer Faux Copper Gutters.

The vast majority of residential homes only need 5″ eavestroughing. Unless you have a steep pitch (6/12 or higher), a metal roof, or an exceptionably large roof then 6″ is recommended.
Yes, leaf guard does work as long as you choose the right product. That is why we use Alu-Rex for all of our leaf guard installations. Their products are tested, offer a great warranty, and are Canadian made. It is important to note that leaf guard does not equal maintenance free gutters. While leaf guard prevents debris from clogging your gutters and downspouts, debris can still build up onto of the guard itself. We recommend a once yearly cleaning of your gutter guards to ensure they remain in working order. A simple wash off with a hose and want attachment from the ground is our preferred method.
Yes, drip edge is important. It helps direct the water coming off of your shingles into the gutter, preventing it from getting behind your fascia cladding and possibly rotting your fascia board. We recommend having it installed whenever your shingles are less then an 1″ past your fascia board, or if they are curling.
Vinyl Lap siding is the cheapest siding option available. Then followed by James Hardie, Can-Excel, and metal siding options.

We service all of Edmonton, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County, Lac Ste. Anne County, and Drayton Valley.

We only recommend using Alu-Rex leaf guard products. Which of their products is best for your property depends on numerous factors such as budget and the types of trees surrounding your building. During all quotes one of our talented salespeople will explain the best product for your circumstance.
The depends on the service being provided and the complexity of the project. For most gutter installs it’ll be a day, for siding projects it’s usually around anywhere from one to three weeks, and for soffit & fascia replacement its usually two to three days.
Really, this depends on your house and your personal preference. Typically we recommend matching the color of your fascia board. During our quoting process we will discuss colour options with you and give our professional opinion on what we think will look best.
