Why Use James Hardie Siding?

Built for Cold and Freeze-Thaw Conditions

Edmonton’s freeze-thaw cycles can put stress on exterior materials. James Hardie’s HZ5 products are engineered to resist damage from freezing temperatures and help protect against moisture-related issues such as swelling, warping and cracking.

Designed to Handle Severe Weather

Hail and severe summer storms are another consideration for Edmonton homeowners. James Hardie siding is designed to withstand demanding weather conditions, including hail, helping protect your home’s exterior through Alberta’s changing seasons.

Non-Combustible Fibre Cement

James Hardie fibre cement products are non-combustible, meaning they will not ignite or contribute fuel to a fire under the applicable testing standard. While no siding makes a home fireproof, non-combustible fibre cement can provide an added benefit for homeowners concerned about fire exposure.

Can Hardie Siding Be Installed in Cold Weather?

James Hardie siding can be installed in colder weather when product and site conditions meet the manufacturer’s requirements.

How Much Does James Hardie Siding Cost in Edmonton?

The cost of James Hardie siding in Edmonton varies from home to home.

As a general guide, homeowners can expect to pay approximately $20 to $30 per square foot installed.

What Affects the Cost of James Hardie Siding?

Several factors can affect the total cost of a siding replacement project, including:

  • Size of your home: More exterior wall area requires more siding and installation time.
  • Home design: Gables, dormers, multiple corners, windows and other architectural details can increase installation complexity.
  • Existing siding: Removing and disposing of old siding adds to the scope of the project.
  • Condition of the exterior: Any damaged sheathing or areas requiring repair may need to be addressed before new siding is installed.
  • Siding profile: HardiePlank, Board & Batten and HardieShingle can have different material and installation costs.
  • Finish: Primed siding and factory-finished ColorPlus® products can have different costs.
  • Trim and exterior upgrades: New trim, capping, soffit, fascia or eavestrough work can affect the overall project price.

Signs It's Time to Replace Your Siding

Not every siding problem requires a complete replacement, but certain signs can indicate that your home’s exterior is reaching the end of its useful life.

Look for cracks, warping, buckling, holes, significant fading, peeling or loose sections of siding. Soft areas, swelling, rot or signs of moisture can also indicate problems that should be assessed before they become more extensive.

If you’re regularly repairing damaged siding or you’re unhappy with the appearance of your home’s exterior, replacement may be a better long-term option. A new siding installation can also be an opportunity to update your home’s style and improve its curb appeal.

Let It Flow Exteriors can assess your existing siding and help determine whether repair or replacement is the right option for your Edmonton home.

Testimonials

Excellent workmanship. From honest estimates to the finished product, this local company does things right. Based on our recent experience, we highly recommend Let It Flow Exteriors. Their use of high-quality materials, expert advice, and attention to detail throughout the project are just a few of the factors that make this company a reliable and excellent choice. The work was completed professionally, efficiently, and with a strong commitment to quality. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for dependable exterior renovation services.
Tyler and his crew installed soffit, facia, capping and gutters on a 1230sq/ft shop build at my home. The quote was fair and their workman ship was excellent! I was impressed with their attention to detail and correcting the garage door installer's mistakes during the installation of the door capping. After they completed the job, a different company came to stucco the walls. During their work they peckered a few of my new down spouts. I had reached out to Tyler to have him re-due and install the down spouts. Of course there was a charge for this but I was happy to pay to have them perfect again. During their visit Tyler noticed that the one gutter had some distortion or stress wrinkling on the underside that he didn't like. I personally didn't even notice it but he wasn't happy how it looked. Tyler and his crew came out a few weeks later to correct the issue by replacing the entire 43' run. He looked at the other side, and even though I didn't think there was an issue, they replaced the other side as well and there was no cost for their time, materials or honesty. Quality workmanship at a fair price is something you don't encounter anymore in our economy. The fact that Tyler identified an issue that I didn't even notice and correct it at his expense blows me away! Honest and conscientious people or contractors are far and few between. I am pleased to share my experience, and forward my recommendation! James Parkland County Resident
Highly recommend! We had Hardie Board siding and new gutters put on our house. We couldn’t be happier with the look of our home. The crew from Let It Flow were amazing! They arrived when they said they would and they showed up everyday. Our project was completed on time, and done well. Communication was excellent through the entire process from quote to completion. An added bonus was how considerate they were of our property. Everything was kept tidy everyday of the project. Thank you for giving us such a great experience and leaving us with an exterior that will be beautiful for many years to come!
We have nothing but good things to say! They made the entire process a breeze. We had them install siding, eavestrough and custom capping. Quotes were very reasonable and matched our final invoices. No surprises. They were efficient, hard working and got the job done with no issues. The entire crew was very polite and easy going. I would definitely hire them for future projects!
Tyler and the guys at " Let it Flow Exteriors" did an amazing job installing the " Gutter Clean Pro Gutters" on our acreage home. they were fast, the job was first class and the price was very reasonable. G. & T. Marshall.
