Signs Your Soffit & Fascia Needs Repaired

Soffit and fascia damage often starts small but can quickly lead to costly repairs if left unaddressed. If you notice any of the following issues, it may be time to call a professional:

  • Peeling paint or visible rot on fascia boards

  • Water stains or moisture damage near roof edges or eaves

  • Sagging or loose soffit panels

  • Animal or insect activity in your roof overhang

  • Poor attic ventilation, leading to excess heat or condensation

  • Gutters pulling away from the roofline

Addressing these problems early helps prevent further damage to your roof, attic, and siding.

What is Soffit and Fascia?

Fascia is the material that is located directed behind your homes gutters. It attached to your roofs rafter tails and provides a solid base for your gutter and soffit to attach too. Older homes in Edmonton typically have painted wood fascia, where newer (1980+) have fascia covered in aluminum or steel. The major of fascia replacement in Edmonton that we complete is done using aluminum.
Soffit is the material located underneath the overhang on your home. Soffit can be many different types of material such as wood, vinyl, PVC, and aluminum, with aluminum being the most popular. Soffit helps provide ventilation to your homes attic, ensuring that air is being circulated properly. It also helps protect your attic from critters and creatures entering and causing havoc.

Testimonials

We couldn’t be happier with the work from Let It Flow Exteriors. Tyler handled our eavestroughs and did an absolute amazing job, clean, professional, and exactly what we were looking for. What really stood out was his commitment to customer satisfaction. There was a small detail we weren’t totally satisfied with, and without hesitation, Tyler came back to fix it, no questions asked. We offered to pay for the extra trip, but he told us, “That’s not necessary.” That level of service is rare. We were so impressed, we gave him a tip and we’ll absolutely be recommending Let It Flow Exteriors to everyone we know in the Parkland County area. Honest, reliable, and goes the extra mile. Thanks again, Tyler and everyone else involved!
Tyler and his crew were great to work with on my project. Great advice, knowledge of the products and a genuine concern for high installation standards. Highly recommend! I will be reaching out to them for any other future projects.
Outstanding company to deal with! Tyler and his crew did an awesome job replacing the eavestroughs, installed leaf guards and even took the time to fix a piece of facia on my home in Spruce Grove. Tyler is an absolute pleasure to deal with, honest, has integrity and is hard working. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have work done!
Very dependable and they done an awesome job today with the installation on our new home. We will be getting them back again to do our garage once it is built.
Tyler & his team were here early by almost a week. Much appreciated. Friendly & quick. Even humored my changes. And very reasonable. Should have done it sooner. Thanks guys.

Soffit FAQ's

What is Soffit?
Soffit is located underneath your roofs overhang. Its purpose is to help provide ventilation to your homes attic, helping it expel air through your roof vents.
Fascia is the material located directly behind your gutters. It provides a stable base for your gutters to attach to.

Yes they do. In order to properly replace your soffit and fascia your existing gutters must be removed. This is because your gutters are installed over top of your fascia, and your fascia will have a 1″ lip that covers your soffit.

The cost to replace soffit and fascia on each home is calculated based on the square footage of soffit required, and total linear footage of fascia along with fascia size. As such an in-person quote is required to properly calculated the cost.
There are multiple reasons to replace your soffit and fascia. Firstly is to improve your attic ventilation, second is to improve the general aesthetics of your home, lastly is to eliminate the need for any maintenance or painting if you have wood soffits and fascia.
